Washington Monument

What's new at the Washington Monument is the restoration project that will repair both the interior and exterior of the monument. In an effort to combine practicality and aesthetics,  postmodern architect Michael Graves designed a scaffolding system that is a functioning work of art. The exterior of the monument will be shrouded in a blue tarp, and lighted at night to give one of Washington's most recognizable attractions a facelift.
