The DAR Museum's period rooms are quite interesting, and kids will enjoy the tour too. The 45-minute tour is informative, but the real treat is the "Colonial Adventure" tour for kids. Try to make reservations at least two weeks in advance, but you could get lucky if you call later.

Besides the period rooms, the DAR is known for its quilts. Once a month, the museum has a small session for patrons to handle some quilts and have their antique quilts evaluated. Call for reservations
