From the first independent dispatches documenting the Crimean War in 1855 to the live video coverage of bombs falling in the 1991 Persian Gulf conflict, wars have been the biggest, most important and most dangerous events that journalists can cover. 'War Stories' uses historic newspaper front pages, photographs, newsreel footage, radio and TV broadcasts, war-related artifacts and interviews with war reporters and photographers to explore the challenges of covering armed conflicts and the personalities of the people who risked their lives to tell the stories. Historian and journalist Harold Evans, author of 'The American Century,' is guest curator for 'War Stories.'
